    RMA for Gigabyte GTX560TI 1GB

    Hi there,

    I am experiencing a number of issues with my 560TI card as follows:

    1. Sometimes when starting up, the display refuses to show anything
    - i.e. monitor is in standby mode despite the fact there is hdd activity
    - tested with 2 other monitors, confirm not monitor problem

    2. green/red boxes flash up at times, freezes for few seconds, then Nvidia announces that its graphics driver has crashed
    - this has been ongoing for about half a year (it didn't bug me enough to RMA, till i encountered #1 frequently)
    - no OC was done to the card at all
    - problem can occur anytime (e.g. surfing the net)

    previously i thought it might have been some other hardware issues - such as my power supply and motherboard. i have previously brought them to the distros for comprehensive check, and nothing found. i have also formatted my ssd (+tried different ssds), and took out ram modules to isolate the issue. hence, i am very confident that the problem lies with the gfx card.

    Questions
    1. how long does it take to verify the issue on your side?
    2. if it is fast, able to do 1-1 exchange on the spot?
    3. if not, how long would the RMA take?
    4. if the RMA is long, what would the T-loan card be? i am running on a 2560x1440 monitor, hence it might be tough if i'm given a card that is few generations older than my current card.

    Hi Savager,

    1. how long does it take to verify the issue on your side?

    The current card you have is not entitled to a 1-1 exchange. The 1-1 exchange can only be made if your card is at its 1st year warranty. 2nd & 3rd year warranty will have to be sent back for repair.

    3. if not, how long would the RMA take?

    No promises to be given on this but we will try our best to process this asap.

    4. if the RMA is long, what would the T-loan card be? i am running on a 2560x1440 monitor, hence it might be tough if i'm given a card that is few generations older than my current card.

    didn't know i could do 1-1 if it is in the first year, else i would have brought it here long ago. okay, will bring it down this Saturday morning. hope you guys are around.

    Hi,

    i sent in this card two months ago. the guy who took my card promised that it will be ready in 4-6 weeks for collection. i called a few times but they kept saying it is not ready for collection yet.

    the worst part is that it eats into my warranty period.

    may i know what has happened?
