Hi guys, what is the point of 10G service (or even 1G)? I hear that the international bandwidth from all telco combined for internet is <40G so 4x users of this service can congest all international connection to singapore?

Is this correct? Please let us know.

Nope, 40G is connection to Fiber Splitter near your block. Their connection to the world is based on peering agreement. Look for those with multiple peering agreement with Tier 1 bandwidth provider such as, NTT, HE, Level 3, Cogent etc...

Want to share... was previously a Superinternet subscriber for many years on the 100mbs plan when I finally upgrade to 1GBs. Past few years, whole family can stream their own video to their phone while my game is lag free. And that was on 100MBs.

Upgrade was very smooth. Netlink guy came and did some tests on my 2nd port in the morning. Then Superinternet guy came and installed new equipment. For 1GBE (it seems Superinternet is offering Ethernet on Fiber), need to change my fiber port, change my optic cable and even change my router. For my router, I was given a fiber media converter router. Unlike the Huawei one where there are 4 ports (you can have 4 separate IPs), this router offers one port so only one ip. Having said that, which home user needs 4 separate dynamic ip addresses?

Side note... I could have opted to buy my own router with an SPF port, but the media converter was managed by Superinternet so its hassle free.

Speed test results is as below.
