    erm can someone help me out here, roughly what does an 8800gtx or gts or gts 320mb get on 3dmark06?

    hmmm 57xx pts for GTS, interesting.

    The 8600GTS performs around the same with an overclocked 7900GS. What I'm worried is when you drop in AA and AF into the mix, the 128bit memory will show its weakness. Even more to worry about DX10 performance.

    The 8800GTS 320mb gets around 8k in 3dmark 06.

    7XXX for a gts 320mb with a 3800+ X2, both stock

    I'm dubbing here...

    What should I do? Buy a secondhanded 7900GS with 6 games (which can be resold) for 135 euro's or a new 8600GT for 160?

    dude you can buy 8600gts sell your 7300 and take it, believe me it will help you,new generations allways better you saw in gf fx,that the 6600 had beaten the 5900 so new generations are,also new games on sm4.0 will come better,it's up to u

    Still gotta play the waiting game...Vista is crap now and even if I get a DX10 card its practically useless till I install Vista...

    nvidia drives for vista is crap... artifacts everytime the UAC screen appears

    Man... e 8600GTS is not attractive at all since it's supposed 2 be priced pretty close 2 e 320MB 8800GTS. Sucks..

    wait for the ATI cards to come along first. The AMD-ATI can be quite crazy with their pricing sometimes like how they push the X1900 cards a few months ago, simply beat the Nvidia pricing flat and force a price cut from Nvidia in response. The waiting game is for ATI to launch their cards, no two ways about it.

    IMO it looks pretty good for something that would be replacing the 7900 series.
