    [Mini Review] Jonsbo V2 Silver

A quick look at Jonsbo V2 Silver Chassis
Suggested Retail price: $99 with 300w SFX PSU

The Jonsbo V2 comes in a pretty plain brown box. Keeps costs down.

The manual is very simply and printed in Chinese language. Jonsbo's started out in China and they haven't gotten ready international stocks yet. So please bear with it for the time being.

Foam and plastic packaging provides ample protection.

A quick comparison against a micro ATX board.

The rear of the case. Plenty of openings for airflow and supports a 40mm fan should you require extra help with exhaust.

    Very nicely brushed finishing.

Support for USB3.0, 2.0 and HD audio and the right side.

Lots of ventilation holes for passive air flow on the left panel.

Remove the side panel to begin installation. All black cables are a pretty nice touch.

Remove bottom HDD/SSD panel next to get ample room for motherboard to go in.

Putting in the lovely mini ITX board.

Note the different HDD screws for 2.5" and 3.5" drive mounting.

Remember to face the 2.5" drive inwards when installing.

We're bundling this SFX PSU (usually sells for $59) to go with the chassis.
300w true power, Active PFC, 80-84% efficiency, full range input (you can use this anywhere in the world)

Plug in all necessary connectors and do as much cable management as possible before screwing the PSU in. (Most of you will probably do a better job than us in CM.)

PSU installed. Fan facing down to draw out CPU heat.
Put back the bottom panel, then put back the side panel.

Stick the 4 rubber feet provided on the bottom of the chassis.

And there we go, a smexy pc/htpc.

    Compared to a 18.5" Monitor.

Feel free to post questions and comments.

Oh I just realized... you can't fit a graphic card into this right?

  8. #8
yeah...kinda wasted.... should cut a slot for additional card.

Without addon graphics card, i think rather make it small, and use pico psu instead of internal psu.

Please check out V3,4,6 for those who want to put graphics card.

The V2 uses a SFX PSU so that there's ample headroom in power for i7 or FM2 high end processors. Jonsbo should be coming out with a version that will use pico or DC-DC board that's even smaller in the future.

What fan (6cm) would you recommend for this casing? Looking for something that is silent but able to cool down the internals at the same time.

  14. #14
Hi, for 6cm fans its not very common yet.

We're sourcing for some to go with the case.

But for the moment you can try out some fans in Sim Lim Tower to see if they suit your noise/airflow requirements.

Otherwise, the PSU's fan is actually enough for this case, since there's no GPU.

Love the size of the V2, but if only it had a PCI expansion slot. Seems to be enough room if the 3.5" HDD was not installed.

Would it be possible to fit a single-slot graphics card in V2 if the necessary slot cut out the back?
