Hard disk --> SBLive! Digital --> Cambridge Audio digital decoder --> Creative Inspire T3000 2.1

Crap setup, I know but digital keeps the signal very clean and I only listen to 160kbs or 192kbs MP3's so I don't need anything more than that. Satellites are 6W per channel with a seperate tweeter and Sub is an efficient 17w wooden box.

speakers at the corners create a lot of unwanted bass. Bass should not be boomy but instead tide and punchy

If you have a similar setup try it and you'll notice the difference

You have to find a balance between a wider soundstage or a thinner midbass.
