    Suspected motherboard failure

    System specifications:

    CPU: Intel i5 3570K
    Mobo: ASROCK Z77 Pro3
    RAM: G Skill Value RAM 2 X 4GB
    Storage: OCZ Agility 3 60GB (OS), W.D 1TB Black
    GPU: Palit GTX670
    PSU: Seasonic M12II 620W

I have troubleshooted the above system for a friend, and highly suspect a motherboard failure.

System was left untouched for quite a while as my friend was busy with other stuff, and when he tried to turn on his PC, it was unable to boot.

    No bootscreen, no lights whatsoever.

Even tried shorting the power switch pins.

Definitely not PSU problem as I have tried the paper clip method.

As my friend does not know how to remove the motherboard from the chassis, is it possible that he brings the whole system down for further troubleshooting / RMA?

    - got check all the psu connectors connected properly onto the mb?
    - normally if mb no start, check 8 pin connector.
    - check if u put the power start pin correctly.
    - if still no start go rma liao.

Plz send the M/B along with the processor for testing. In the case of M/B faulty we do 1 to 1 swap on the spot. Kindly note, there is a service charge applicable for whole system brought in for trouble-shooting.

Didn't know Avertek's service charge is expensive than SLs shop.
I went to Gigabyte distri and is free, very nice guy and all done within 15 mins.
I will think twice before getting any Asrock's motherboard.
I am a newbie in PC stuffs, so kind of worried about costs.
