Lightbulb Palit 9800GT sonic dual heatpipe (55nm) voltmod

Just bought this third revision of Palit 9800GT sonic. Indeed it is already the 55nm version. So i researched and worked out a Vgpu volt mod for this card.

This is how it looks like

    Without the HSF

    GPU G92-283-B1

    NCP5388 schematics

    The volt mod

    Vgpu read points

    Initial test

    ATITools stable at 1.28v
have tried pencil mod but I only managed 1.12v with it from stock 1.1v

    wow may i ask u y u think shortcutting pin 12(ROSC) and 13(ILIM)
will disable OverClockingProtection? or am i getting something wrong
lala kinda noob to hardware mods..
i did some on yantronics instruction or shaminos tuts, but when i figure one out by myself mostly it doesn't work how it is supposed to xD
mainboardmods are easier to figure out, at least for those i tryed.. but when it comes to Graphics ..

by removing resistance from pins 12 and 13 you effectively disable Over Current Protection. At least that's what the datasheet said. Or by soldering a vr we can push the OCP trigger higher. My card's OCP kicks in at 1.4v.

Maybe this weekend if time permits I might work on verifying the OCP mod.

Regarding the VGPU mod, can I just solder the VR at the point you stated or need I shade the resistor too?

Any updates with regards to the OCP crippling? And what of OVP?

no need to pencil shade if vr is to be used. haven't got time the past weekend so no confirmed OCP mod yet.
