    Post AMD R600 A15 Silicon Hit 1GHz, March 8th Launch

    我们知道，ATi将在3月份发布新一代R600图形芯片，并且将以Radeon X2K系列命名。

    现在，根据相关厂商透露，R600图形芯片研发当中除了现在拿出的比较成熟的A12版本之外，ATi也已经正在规划后续的R600 A15版本，据传R600图形芯片A15版核心/显存工作频率将达到双2G，也就是说R600 A15版的核心/显存工作频率分别是2GHz和2GHz。另外，厂商透露，ATi将在今年第3季度发布R600系列的更新版本R680，细节参数暂时不清楚，预期AMD将在同期公布处理器图形芯片融合的Fusion芯片。

    厂商今天也透露，G80受制程制约，所以原计划有了改变，现在主要负责抢时间和地盘，据传衍生产品G81会是非常不错的产品，同时针对ATi R600、R680，NVIDIA也规划在第3季度以出其不意的方式加以反击。

    最后，根据最新传闻，ATi会在3月8日或者3月9日发布R600，具体情况如何，让我们拭目以待吧

    The websites in China are reporting that AMD will launch the R600 in 8-9th of March and will be officially named as Radeon X2K series. The more mature production silicon seems to be still at A12 and it will be the silicon for the R600 cards at launch. However, the good news is that ATi has successfully taped out A15 silicon that will work at 1GHz so probably we can expect another series of cards in the near future that work at higher clocks eg. Radeon X2850. The next generation R680 seems to come quickly, scheduled for Q3 but based on previous experience, we can expect a Q4 launch instead. Interestingly, they said AMD will announce Fusion CPU which is slated for 2008/2009. NVIDIA will have G81 and the next generation G90 to fend off the competition.

    i just sent an email to a retailer about buying another xfx 8800 gtx to go sli and a msi p6n daimond to use. and know i have news about R600 coming out, does that mean i have to upgrade again in march? but what is worse nvidia wants to counter that by releasing G81 and G90. then again an upgrade. i am really lost someone please help
