3rd one seems useless to me.

and i know y the 4th is capped at 256bit.

So that a new G92 GTX can have 320bit

I think the 4th will actually kill off the advantages of a current 8800GTX.

Why are they dropping the memory interface rates? The latest ATi offerings have 1Gb of memory (>768Mb from nVidia), 512-bit arrangement (>384-bit on the GTX and Ultra) and DDR4 (>DDR3???), so why on earth is nVidia letting them get ahead with all that??? Are they simply trying to prove how awesome they are or something?

So wait, 2 new GTSs are coming up. The one which every company is putting as ++ will have G80 core with 112SP which IMO, is not worth it.

Now, there is another GTS but with G92 and is gonna have 128SP.

Now my question is, Im a user with a G71GS (7900GS), I really need a new video card now, should I get the 8800GT SSC from eVGA or just wait for the G92 128SP SSC card from eVGA?

I would say I should wait, but I wanna know some opinions first. Since its gonna be a 8800gt-S- is gonna cost like a normal GTS ($350+) and I canT spend more than $350 (including shipping)

yesterday i went down to slim lim..some one told me about the 8800gt 's own cooler..it was said that when at idle the temperature is at 90 degrees..he also said that the card mostly can tahan around 6-9 months ?anyone have more detailed information about this 8800's cooler problem?

I dont think so, it is built in 65nm so it should have lower temps even with the small fan.

And I also remember seeing somewhere the temps were lower than 8800GTX (not by much but pretty decent)

thats utter nonsense! idle at 90!? the reason why he would be saying that is to force u to buy his old stocks of the GTS 320mb/640mb which most probably almost no one is buying now. we all know the 8800GT's cooler ain't the best but it hits 80 degrees TOPS at load(if you do not overclock too much) if idle at 90,load at 120 degrees ah?like that your card no need to wait more than 1 week and it'll be toasted.

goodness...can't believe the nerve of some salesmen in simlim....

i'm just waitung for some benchies of g80 112sp in tri-SLI, i think that would be a very cheap tri-sli possibility, coz the g80's prices will get very low....

Next time you must take down the pic of the idioitic salesman. What a stupid lie. if the card can tahan around 6-9 months then i think the manufacturers in trouble cos they have warranties ranging from 1 year to 3 years.

The 8800gt is like the 7900gt. Got super potential but they purposely put a super small cooler to limit your overclock. If they put in a 2 slot cooler , who will buy the new 8800gts as well as the 8800 gtx/ultra?
