ATI Hot Fix released for HD4800 cards

    http://www.tweaktown.com/news/9709/a...sed/index.html

It's a complete driver + CCC package for those with 4800 cards.

I ran a quick test of World In Conflict on my PC @ 2560x1600 and the result doesn't really change. -1 avg FPS, +1 max FPS vs Catalyst 8.6 for the HD4850.

    Check it out yourself!

didn't really change fps but lowered my temp by about 10 degrees. Or maybe it's just ambient temp fluctuation.

    Good point!
It lowered my load temp to 82oC. Previously it was 90+oC.

I guess they bumped up the fan speed.

haha I guess it's literally a "hot" fix.
Now the ambient/load temp is more in-line with recent reference designed cards out there.

hm I have a slower cpu than yours but I can play grid with 8xAA/16xAF on 1776x1000 (overscan compensation ;_ and don't feel any lag.
Performance wise it's about the same as before.

If you mean on your 3870 I have no idea, they have a different Catalyst 8.6 for the 1-38xx series I think.

I just force them in CCC.
I think you can goto advance options in game and set the AF slider to the max and it's 16x.
Note: on default ultra quality it only sets 4xAA but if I remember right you can set it to 8x.

Ignore this post if you weren't asking about Grid.
